Licensure and Certification of Practitioners

BMD regularly represents medical practitioners, including, but not limited to physicians, advanced registered nurse practitioners, nurses, technicians, therapists and other providers with licensing and certification, including enrollment in Medicare and Medicaid as well as new business start-up. BMD also regularly assists providers in negotiating managed care contracts and credentialing.

In addition, BMD represents clients in matters that could result in revocations of or barriers to licensure and certification including, but not limited to the following:  allegations of False Claims Act violations, exclusion from Medicare and Medicaid, reinstatement to Medicare and Medicaid, removal from OIG and other exclusion lists, revocation of Medicare provider number, United State Medical Licensing Examination issues, representation before the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, disciplinary actions, loss of medical staff or other facility privileges, Department of Health investigations, OIG investigative subpoenas, NPDB reporting disputes, Board disciplinary proceedings and other administrative hearings, investigative subpoenas, denials of enrollment  in government or private insurance and benefit plans, and formal and informal administrative hearings.  We believe an aggressive approach is often necessary to prevent abuse of these processes, but also assist our clients in dispute resolution when warranted.
