Gary W. Spring, Esq. has joined the Akron office of BMD in an “Of Counsel” role after 20+ years as an Attorney and Partner with Roetzel & Andress, specializing in Labor and Employment law. Throughout his extensive career, he has represented not only major corporations but small businesses, nonprofits, and agencies in a variety of employment and commercial law matters, such as contract negotiations, litigation and dispute mediation. He also has experience acting as corporate counsel to numerous businesses and nonprofits.

Overview

Gary will continue his employment as a Clinical Professor at the University of Akron School of Law, where he is currently leading the Small Entrepreneur and Economic Development (SEED) Legal Clinic. As Director of SEED, he supervises law students and works directly as a legal advisor with start-up businesses. He has served for many years at the University of Akron School of Law, teaching a number of different courses and as a Visiting Professor at both the University of Cincinnati School of Law and Rutgers School of Law in Newark, NJ. He is the author of various articles published in law reviews and other publications during his career. Among his many honors is recognition as one of The Best Lawyers in America (2005-2009), having been selected as an Ohio Super Lawyer® (2004-2010), as well as being invited to serve as a Board Member to both the Ohio State Bar Association, Specialty Certification – Labor & Employment and the Ohio Management Lawyers Association.
