BMD Names Amanda Waesch Akron Office Managing Partner

[Akron, OH – March 10, 2026] Brennan Manna Diamond (BMD) is pleased to announce the appointment of Amanda Waesch as the new Office Managing Partner of its Akron office. Amanda succeeds Justin Alaburda in this role, as he was promoted to President of the firm in May of 2025. Amanda currently serves as BMD’s Vice President and Marketing and Business Development Chair, in addition to operating a national healthcare practice.

Amanda started her journey at BMD as a law clerk in 2006 and became an associate in 2008 upon her graduation from The University of Akron School of Law. She was promoted to Partner at BMD in 2014. Amanda joined the Executive Leadership Team in 2019, where she headed the Marketing and Business Development Department. In 2020, she was promoted to Vice President of BMD. Amanda operates a national healthcare practice and is licensed in Florida, Ohio, and Tennessee. Amanda is known for delivering practical, business-oriented counsel on some of the most complex and evolving aspects of corporate healthcare structures, joint ventures, and innovative alignment strategies. Amanda’s areas of expertise include advising clients on corporate restructuring and transactions and strategic alignment strategies; healthcare regulatory compliance; and employee benefits and supplemental insurance plan solutions.

She has been recognized annually as The Best Lawyers in America® for Health Care Law since 2022 and has been honored by Crain’s as a Notable in Law. Amanda is the Education Committee Chair for the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants and a Fellow of the Akron Bar Foundation. She is a well-published, healthcare industry thought leader and frequently sought-after speaker for events, conferences, and podcasts.

In addition to her practice, Amanda has served her community as an elected official on her local school board since 2016 where she served two terms as President. She is a Member of the University of Akron Leadership/HR Management Advisory Board. Amanda also serves as a volunteer youth and middle school cheer coach. She lives in Rootstown with her husband, Keith, and three children – Nathan, Ryan Lynn, and Gerren.

Justin Alaburda served as the previous Akron Office Managing Partner and assumed the role of BMD’s President in 2025. “Amanda is a rock star attorney, thought leader, and trusted member of the leadership team. The time is right for Amanda to lead the Akron office,” he said. Justin will continue to serve as President, focusing on broader firmwide strategy and priorities.
