RNs and APRNs Take Note: Ohio Board of Nursing Mandates a New CE Reporting Period

If you are a registered nurse (“RN”) or an advanced practice registered nurse (“APRN”), you will want to take note of the new Ohio Board of Nursing (“OBON”) Rule that alters the reporting period for Continuing Education (“CE”) credits.

Effective March 26, 2026, Ohio Administrative Code Rule 4723-14-01(U) lists the RN and APRN reporting period for CE credits as July 1st through June 30th in the odd numbered years. This is a change from the previous reporting period of November 1st through October 31st in the odd numbered years.

RNs and APRNs must ensure that all required CE hours are completed by the new deadline to remain compliant with reporting requirements.

Term Sheets Finalized for Main Street Lending Program

The Main Street Lending Program (“MSLP”) is designed to provide support to small and medium-sized businesses during the current pandemic. The availability of additional credit is intended to help companies that were in sound financial condition prior to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic maintain their operations and payroll until conditions normalize. The loans will be provided by funds invested by the Department of Treasury. The terms sheets have been finalized for the program, which should be up and running shortly.

Employment Law Pitfalls in the New Normal

This week the state of Ohio announced its Responsible RestartOhio plan and issued a Stay Safe Order amending to Department of Health’s prior order, designed to get people back to work and gradually reopen the state, available at https://coronavirus.ohio.gov/static/publicorders/Directors-Stay-Safe-Ohio-Order.pdf. This new order directs employers to require their employees to wear masks (with certain limited exceptions) and recommends changes to shifts, break times, and use of break rooms as a means to limit the spread of the virus.
