Overview

With a background in finance and banking, Austin advises both buyers and sellers on all aspects of mergers and acquisitions, beginning at the letter of intent and due diligence stage to the structure of the transaction and negotiation of the transaction documents. He also advises clients on corporate formation, organization, and governance-related issues.

Prior to joining BMD, Austin practiced at a large corporate law firm in New York, NY, with a focus on M&A and private equity.

Austin was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. Outside of work, Austin enjoys playing music and watching Cleveland sports.

• Represented a cryptocurrency mining company in its signing of a merger agreement with a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC) (2021)
• Represented one of the largest public internet services technology and consulting companies in its acquisition of a collaboration and communications management company (2021)
• Facilitated the divestiture of an insurance brokerage firm for one of the largest banks in the United States (2018)
• Facilitated the acquisition of an investment banking firm for one of the largest banks in the United States (2017)
