Overview

Mercedes is an employment and labor law attorney committed to helping both employers and employees navigate workplace challenges and ensure legal compliance. She regularly handles matters involving the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act.

Before being admitted to the Ohio bar, Mercedes was a law clerk in BMD’s Summer Associate Program for two consecutive years. During this time, she gained valuable experience drafting employee handbooks, reviewing non-compete agreements, and assisting in wage and hour compliance issues.

During her time at Capital University Law School, Mercedes was an advocate on the Black Law Students Association Moot Court team where she developed strong oral advocacy skills.

In her leisure time, Mercedes enjoys crafting, traveling, and spending time with her dogs, Max and Maya.
