Amanda Waesch serves as BMD’s Vice President, Akron Office Managing Partner, and Marketing and Business Development Chair. She operates a national practice, primarily focusing on corporate healthcare and employment law matters. Ms. Waesch is known for delivering practical, business-oriented counsel on some of the most complex and evolving aspects of corporate healthcare structures, joint ventures, and innovative alignment strategies. Her areas of expertise include advising clients on corporate restructuring and transactions and strategic alignment strategies; healthcare regulatory compliance; and employee benefits and supplemental insurance plan solutions.
She also chairs the firm's litigation team that is primarily responsible for handling all reimbursement audits and appeals for her firm’s healthcare clients and heads up BMD's Provider Relations, Audit, Appeals and Negotiations Unit (PRAAN) which handles all-payer audits, appeals, overpayments and payment extrapolations.
Ms. Waesch has been practicing law since 2008 and is licensed in Florida, Ohio and Tennessee.

Ms. Waesch is a healthcare transactional attorney who advises hospitals, health systems, physician groups, ambulatory surgery centers, long-term and post-acute care providers, home health agencies, and other health care organizations on the legal, regulatory, and business issues that shape today’s healthcare landscape. Ms. Waesch helps her clients navigate the complex intersection of corporate law, healthcare regulations, and strategic business planning.
Ms. Waesch represents clients in a wide range of healthcare transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, physician-hospital alignment strategies, management services organizations (MSOs), professional service agreements, and other large-scale collaborations. Ms. Waesch routinely drafts and negotiates sophisticated commercial agreements designed to support operational goals while mitigating regulatory risks.
Ms. Waesch is well-versed in applicable federal and state healthcare laws as she regularly advises clients on the federal Stark law, Anti-Kickback Statute, False Claims Act, EKRA, HIPAA privacy and security rules, Medicare and Medicaid participation requirements, licensing matters, reimbursement strategies, corporate compliance, and state-analogous laws, rules, and regulations. Ms. Waesch partners closely with clients to ensure that transactional structures and operational practices align with evolving regulatory standards, industry best practices, and client goals.
In addition to transactional work, Ms. Waesch serves as a strategic advisor to healthcare executives and boards, offering practical business-minded counsel on governance, risk management, strategic alignment solutions, and long-term organizational planning. Clients value her ability to deliver clear, actionable guidance in a complex, highly regulated environment.
As a regulatory compliance healthcare attorney, Ms. Waesch advises on regulatory frameworks, assists in structuring compliant business arrangements, conducts internal investigations, responds to government audits, reimbursement appeals and strategies, and manages provider disclosure and repayment obligations. Ms. Waesch has experience supporting clients with OIG investigations and self-disclosures, CMS disclosures, state agency and commercial payor audits, and licensure inquiries, as well as guiding organizations through complex reimbursement and operational compliance issues. Ms. Waesch is primarily responsible for all reimbursement audits and appeals, including Medicare and Medicaid appeals, for her firm’s healthcare clients. She is approved counsel on several insurance panels.
Ms. Waesch has extensive experience advising insurers, third party administrators, employers and brokers on the design, regulatory compliance, and administration of fixed indemnity and supplemental health benefit plans. With a practice focused on the intersection of federal healthcare regulation and employee benefit strategy, Ms. Waesch serves as outside counsel to national carriers, TPAs, brokers, and employers offering supplemental medical benefits to diverse workforces. Ms. Waesch is well-versed in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and ERISA. She assists organizations in assessing compliance risks. Ms. Waesch works closely with her clients to deliver clear actionable guidance to support product growth while mitigating legal exposure. Clients value her ability to translate dense regulatory compliance obligations into workable solutions tailored to the unique dynamics of the fixed indemnity and supplemental benefits market.
