Overview
Before entering private practice, Travis led consumer financial services litigation for the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, where he directed enforcement actions in fintech, data privacy, and consumer protection matters, and helped shape regulatory approaches to emerging technologies, including blockchain and digital assets.
At BMD, Travis focuses his practice on commercial litigation, fiduciary disputes, probate administrations, consumer financial services, and regulatory investigations. His deep experience with state attorneys general, federal agencies, and regulatory compliance allows him to guide clients through both courtroom battles and enforcement challenges with precision and foresight.

- Represented Fortune 50 company in complex federal litigation involving the Lanham Act, business torts, and claims of unfair and deceptive trade practices.
- Represented AI startup in investigation by a state attorney general's office regarding claims of unfair and deceptive advertising practices.
- Represented beneficiaries of multimillion-dollar probate estate in claims involving prenuptial agreement, homestead disputes, and trust interpretation.
- Represented co-trustee in suit against other co-trustee for claims of breach of fiduciary duty.
- Represented developer in suit against contractor for fraud related to the construction of large industrial development.
- Represented shareholder in dispute with the other shareholder of a closely held business involving claims of breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, and fraudulent transfers.
- Represented private company in an action brought by the Federal Trade Commission in which the Court had frozen the business's assets and appointed a receiver over the company.
